HOPE 2009 - Yorktown Stage | HOPE 2009 - Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, New York
DAD is proud to present HOPE 2009 on October 2nd at 7:30 pm and October 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Yorktown Stage. The program features features original choreography that blends classical Indian dance, Bharatanatyam and Odissi, with ballet, modern, and flamenco. HOPE is set to Camille Saint-Saens’s Carnival of the Animals and Danse Macabre.
In this performance, we explore the interactions between the different dance forms and demonstrate the universality of dance, and by extension, the human spirit.
HOPE also expands its horizons to include pieces that study movement outside the framework of pure dance and pieces that involve acting and even a little comedy.
The dancers are Laya Rajan, Alice Fischetti, Malinda Crump, and Erika Valero.
The performance will benefit P.S. We Care, the Yorktown schools drug prevention program, the Peekskill Library’s Youth Department, and Somethig Good In the World, an organization dedicated to improving education for children.
